Today our house looks like...

...this! (please ignore the tape on the top window)
It's def a work in progress.
But it's fun.  And it gives me something to do on my days off.
My day started with several things I LOVE:
The Office, coffee,
and catching up on my "read through the Bible in a year" reading.  Don't judge me because I'm only on February 3 and it's currently February 17.  Judge me because I'm reading in Judges now.  Bwahahahaha.  (Forgive the lameness of my humor.  I've been in my house with minimal human contact all day. )
Next project:  laundry room!!!!!  (and actually committing to hanging pictures on the wall.......I'm so afraid of said commitments.......)

Happy weekend!

A look back...

Hubbsie and I have spent 4 heart days together.

2009:  our senior year...trip to Abilene...our first attempt at cooking together...epic fail...pasta with an entire HEAD of garlic (this was prior to me learning how to cook)...burned pizza...art project.

2010:  my second senior year (what can I say, I "squeezed" 4 years of college into 5...), his first post-college year...we scored some tickets to watch a Stomp-like group in McPherson...it was super fab...then we went to Ta-town for eats...no pic (life was NUTSO that semester)

2011:  first married heart day...dinner at Panera...driving around McFarland Farm (because we can)...streaming KU basketball on our compy

2012:  and, dare I say, this might be my most fava-fave...donuts for b-fast...flowers (and chocolate!) delivered to me at school...dinner out...followed by chillin in.

I love our life and I love the love of my life.  Say that 18 times.

Happy heart day, everyone!

Window Seat Redo

Check it.  This is the only space in the house that is "done."  And I'm not even convinced I'm done yet.  Since "finishing" this space, I've pinterested (past tense of "pinterest") window seat areas that I think are much lovlier.

The grace is always greener.

Tell me what you think.  Too many colors?  What about the green prints on either side of the window?  More mono-chromatic pillows needed?  PLEASE tell.  Need input.

Anywho.  Here's the before.  I know, I know...the colors are so lovely and the space looks complete...it just wasn't us.
PS:  I'd be willing to sell you that cute little basket.  Would you take it for $5?
All naked.  Wait, that's repetitive.  Naked.
Hubbsie removed the blinds for me and put them in the only non-blinded room in the house.  BRILLIANT!
 The after:
 So coze, huh?
The lighting is weird, I know.  But it's 4 pm on a Friday.  It'll stay weird.
Lay it on me.  What do you think?

PS - curtains, seat cushion, and 2 pillows are homemade.  Love me some crafties.

Hubbsie

Happy birthday, hubs.  Who knew, 4 1/2 years ago, that we would be where we are??

This was our first picture together, and I think it adequately represents us.  (Note: 80's skating night.)

I love you more than I can say.

You are steadfast.  You are true.  You are loyal.  You are my favorite.  You love pizza.  You are my bestie.  You let me cry.  You make me laugh.  You are Christ in the flesh to me.  You bring me back to reality.  You let me dream.  You work with me.  You serve me.  You pray over me.  You are hilarious.  You are my Mr. Fix-it.  You are what I need.

You are every word in the English language that is synonymous with awesome.

You are MY hubbsie.

Happy birthday, Dans!  I love you.

Fail?

About a month ago I signed up to bring treats to Bible study tonight.  Naturally, this week has gone nothing like I expected.

So I pulled a domestic fail.

This is what I brought.
And you know what?  Life went on.  No one said anything.  The laydays ate the goods.  I laughed with one about my fail.  All was okay.

Can you say, "Reality check?"  Life goes on...even when you bring store-bought cookies to an all-women's group and don't put them in a pretty bowl.
